In restaurants, when you're way behind and have little hope of ever catching up, you say you're "in the weeds" or "snorkeling". I'm snorkeling, blogwise. I'll never catch up with the not-so current events that have been playing out in the media, so I'll just start with what's up and ongoing issues that have hit my inbox.

And finally, 2 websites that are worth watching. The second was brought to my attention by our own CarrieBoo:

They're putting old sci-fi into free ebooks so they're saved.

Where a lot of things are discussed that people aren't comfortable discussing.
Okay, that's a good start to the megabites of stuff that've been crowding my email and pressing on my mind. There's more, but there's always tomorrow. Enjoy.

whatprivilege.com is an amazing site. Thank you so much. I will be diving into that pond again. And again.
However, there is a wonderful FarSide cartoon which is sadly becoming very true for me.
Picture a truly typical dorky kid (as only Gary Larson can draw) sticking up his hand in class and saying 'May I be excused? My brain is full.'
Me too kid, me too.
"My brain is full". LOL! Ain't that the truth. I'm constantly having to throw old bits of information into the trash to make way for more.
B and I were discussing that, how often we look on our laptops mid-conversation to look up facts, and how stupid we'd be without these extra brains plugged in. ;) It's true, you totally need to know what you're responsible for remembering, otherwise, forget it. (<-- Hah!)
Awesome they're capturing old sci-fi books! And I'm glad you liked that link. :)
"Ten Billion" sounds like a remarkable production. I'm reminded of sci-fi. In Vonnegut's "Slapstick", one nation responds to overpopulation by miniaturizing its citizens. Ten Billion --"lonely no more!"
Well, crap. Now I'm "in the weeds" and behind on all these links you've provided. Thanks a lot, kid. HA! Some interesting stuff. Thanks.
Interesting article on the pain receptor protein. I just hope they get something theraputic through soon. There are far too many people in long-term chronic pain hell.
EC- that's a great site. Nobody trolling! What a rarity! We have CarrieBoo to thank for that! My brain is full! LOL
Boo- Thanks for that site again. It's true, we have to dump some stuff, there's just no room!
Geo- that's a good idea. If we shrunk everyone, there'd be so much more room!
Susan- they're not going anywhere, take em at your leisure. ;)
TSB- your keyboard to gods' ears. It boggled me how there seemed no progress in pain drugs and then here's this news. Let's hold a hope.
