And the Winner Is...

It's Oscar night. Oh, am I allowed to say "Oscar"? They're very pissy about who uses their trademarks. Well, I tune in at the end of the red carpet part and am instantly sickened by Kristen Chenoweth, because that's what she does, and then see Renee Zellweger, whom I love but who looks like she forgot to do anything but put on a fancy gown. Well, the show itself is about to start and I'm ready to turn it off. So on to other things.

Life continues in its unexplainable blur of things and people, of plans that change at the last minute, people who cancel or people who show up unexpectedly. It's a juggling act, as my husband used to say. I took a few minutes yesterday to remember him on the 18th anniversary of his death. Hard to believe it's been that long.

Ah, here's comic relief, they roll in Shatner to tell MacFarlane that the show sucks and he's ruining it. How did I ever love Hollywood? Oh, right, I was a teenager. But hey, Daniel Radcliffe does the song and dance guy very well, like an old time actor! That's the highlight for me so far. Considering the fact that I haven't seen any of the movies involved and only know about half of the celebrities being touted, it's wallpaper, as Stevil says.

So let's get to business and then I can go catch up with what looks like numerous recipes that Lawless at http://mybabyjohn.blogspot.com/ has posted for me to use for the Heat Fund and see what everyone's been up to in my blogger family.

Now Austan, Renee Zellweger holds her mouth like that because she's had to say "Zellweger" all her life. Makeup would only make it less pretty.

Geo.- Well, Renee's just-outta-bed look has been swept away by the Tammy Faye inheritor, Helena Bonham Carter. She's wearing enough makeup for at least 2 people, maybe 3.

:D There's little I'll remember of this one, except for Streisand singing goodbye to Marvin Hamlisch. She's the last of the Movie Stars.

I have seen most of the movies (except Tarantino's - hate his violence) and they were all so good. It is the only award show I watch as there are just too many of these self serving programs.

- Renee Z looked blitzed. Something was definitely wrong with her.

- Cried when they did the music from Les Mis.

- Shirley Bassey and BARBARA were wonderful. They made the show worth staying awake.

- Poor Seth, but he had some good moments. It is a hard job and few succeed.

I'm a rebel. We didn't watch any of the show. In fact, we haven't watched any awards shows in years. The last one we watched was when an amateur radio friend of ours (Patty Loveless) was inducted into the GA Music Hall of Fame.

But I'm glad you guys all had fun watching. I WILL get a kick out of checking out the pics of it in today's paper, though.
