Perusing the Guardian's Culture section this morning, I found some bits that fit some friends... this is all Arleen's fault, who started my day with Tom Waits (thanks, girl! ).

I don't know what I am most touched by; the fact that you thought of me and called me friend or the fact that you called me a poetess. Thank you most humbly and I enjoyed the article.
Thank you Laura. I had a feeling you would be one of the few that enjoyed the wonderful honky-tonk music of Tom Waits. I knew his new album was coming out this month and will be ordering it soon.
Arleen
Lawless, you are a friend. You've read all these rants and despairing posts thru this whole ridiculous nightmare and cared about me. That's a friend. And you are a poetess, too. So there. ;)
Arleen, thank you for kickstarting my day. I can't wait to hear his new stuff!
Great magazine cover retrospective! Thanks. Can it really be 50 years since 1962? Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
