Your classic scary nun was the vast majority of their population, though. So to this day my guts grind just a bit at the sight of a nun. But this one's very cool:

That's a nun we need.
And about the title, since this song was made, I've never been able to have a thought of nuns without it running through my head like Cartman with "Come Sail Away". And what does "you're motoring" even mean?

I used to think of nuns as either being the kind who scared the hell out of you, or the kind who seemed to be full of heaven. But we have a friend who's a nun (now retired) and she's a regular person. Shot pool with us, drank Chianti, and smoked a cigar. Once, when asked to say grace before a meal, she said, "Grace!" And before she retired, she got into some new-agey stuff, like healing through touch. She's a very interesting person.
Austan, I sure liked the video, especially the matched pair of blond guitarists with their heads glued together. Talented group. Good message and nuns waving bye in mist. It was practically an Italian movie. Wow!
I know next to nothing about nuns (or religion more generally). I was brought up without it, and while part of me is not sorry, I don't like being ignorant so am slowly finding out more.
I know little of nuns.
But I do know Night Ranger. :-)
Pearl
Susan- they kept the good nuns out of NYC. It must've been a punishment to be sent there.
Geo.- I love the way you view the world.
EC- there have been many years of my life that I was sorry to have been brought up with it. It was all around me, too. It defined everyone I knew. And was the basis of much corrosive prejudice.
Pearl- of course you know Night Ranger!
Nuns were the Day Rangers. Not so much hair and way more thuggish. ;)
