A Week and a Day to Greg

Next Saturday I'll be beside myself, as Strider and I get ready for the trip to Connecticut to see Greg Lake. I'm already flippy, with that under-the-tongue and back-of-the-throat-stomach-turn semi-panic mini-dry-heave feeling. It's been pumped up a lot after I read the review from Montreal, where the set list included "Trilogy".

ELP in their heyday only performed "Trilogy" twice, as it's a damn hard piece to do live. Vocally it's all over the place and I don't know how Greg's gonna do those octave shifts. But if he does it, I'll lose my mind. That's the song I've always wanted to hear live. Always.

He's not the tall blond Adonis he used to be

but I'm not the tall auburn chickie I was, either. He's still Greg. And he still turns me on. Have I made that clear enough? :D

Pretty piece of music... So he gets you going eh? Gosh, I hadn't picked up on that.

I was afraid I hadn't really expressed that. ;)

Ah Laura,
As you may well remember, I'm a big fan of ELP and saw them perform in Vancouver in 1973 during their "Brain Salad Surgery" tour. Loudest darned concert I've ever been too :)
And you will be beside yourself? Interesting visual :) And no doubt, if Greg met you he would think, "Oh what a lucky man he was..."

Susan-I know, I should really work on expressing myself.

Gary! I didn't catch the BSS Tour, but caught the Works tour. Loud is the word! Strider and I have VIP passes, so we shall meet him and hobnob with the hoi polloi after the concert. I don't know how lucky he'll feel, but I know I'll be in shock. :)
