Happy Independence Day

Well, this is the USA's 237th birthday. Not very old as countries go, and with much to learn, for sure. This experiment is still working it out. Whether our not we can keep the freedoms it was born with is a worrying question.

But today is about celebrating so let's celebrate all the silly things that make us what we are. We're very different individuals trying to live in one nation. Sometimes that results in fabulousness.

And tonight...

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth. I know that as a Muslim woman I did gain a lot in this country. I hope that every one else did too, including my neighbors, my friends and my blogger friends.

Hi Laura,

May the "experiment" that is America, embrace the world and be part of making this a better place.

May you and your loved ones have a peaceful, positive Fourth of July.

In hope and goodwill,

Gary

Happy 4th. The love your neighbour t-shirt is very, very special indeed. I lust after it.

Our differences are what makes us great. No one is 100% right (as much as we think we are), and if we just give a little listen to the other side and they to us, we could all come to compromise and respect and maybe learn something along the way.

Wow, look at you, wouldja? This has gotta be the most pictures you've ever put on a post. Terrific ones, too! Good stuff, kiddo. I hope you had a super 4th. We had a mess of rain here, so a lot of local celebrations were postponed. No problem. We got some live crabs, steamed 'em, and watched a movie and some celebrations on TV while we ate.

Haven't been to the Kaboom festivities for years now - last night sounded like it was quite a show, even though I'm further away from the park than you. I hope the Beest was okay with the noise.

Thanks everybody! I've had quite a time with Comcast and now I haven't been able to get in and write a blogpost for 5 days. It just says "error on page" and won't let me type anything but a title. My mood has been just as disagreeable. Menopause and hell-hot weather combine in me to make a superbitch. So it's probably just as well. Mercury Retrograde can't last forever, even its shadow ends. Until this latest schmagiggal is over, take care and stay cool. x
