A One-off, or Maybe Two
The shirt is done. It even went thru the wash and stayed just as I painted it. I may make another for a friend, but this one's mine. Greg can make his own.
It's not perfect, but it's nice to know I can still do some part of what I used to do, even if it wrecks my hand for a couple days, it's totally worth it.

Excellent work, Austan. Nearly 50 years ago I used to build and stretch silkscreens for the Royal Chicano Air Force. They did incredible work on fabric --from shirts to banners for Cesar Chavez. Your textile paint brought some good memories back. Thanks!
I frequently invoke what I call a pain/gain equation. I am so happy that making that stunning shirt came down on the gain side of the equation at the finish.
Very cool and clever shirt, lady. If creating something... ANYTHING... gives you pleasure, go for it! Anywhere there's any amount of pleasure and joy in the world, that's always a good thing, because that means there's that much less room in it for the bad stuff.
Thanks Geo! I did the commercial art for a screen printer house on one of my breaks away from cooking. It was back in the day of ruby lith and exacto knives and rapidographs. You'd use a wheel to determine what percentage some art should be photographed at to produce a size for burning the screen. For the life of me I can't remember what that wheel is called! Such days. <3
