After the last two days I have no cohesive thoughts so I'm throwing together random bits here today.
L. Frank Baum is my quote of the week author:
"It is kindness that makes one strong and brave; and so we are kind to our prisoners."
Phyllis Diller, William Windom and Tony Scott have all joined the choir eternal. RIP.

Seems to me that these days we're all vassals in some or other mad king's feudal game. And history tells us that the ones who got to speak truth and mostly survived were the jesters. Bond with fellow jesters.
Geez, it's midnight, the second "moon" of the month and I have 2 long days ahead of me. And 3 books call my name. There is no saner escape in life than in a book. Except maybe a song.

Austan, I'm always impressed with you. VW Bus and I both have ignition problems and are getting tinkered with this week. Your blog helps distract and refocus me. Thanks!
I always learn something when I come by. Thank you. And yes, Mitt and Ryan would be a truly dreadful pair to foist upon the world.
The birth order article describes why we are all screwed up. It sounds like that no matter what place you have in the family, you have little chance of ever being happy.
Poor Katie....I hope she finds out who her birth parents are, if only for the medical information that can be gleaned. That's quite the cute pup she has there.
And Laura, I'm always impressed by you.
"Bond with jesters."
:-)
I've just discovered my coat of arms.
Pearl
Great thread on Twit and Lyin' (how is that all these A holes have needed government assistance in their lives, including Rand at the end of her life; GRRRR)... good fodda in that mummy article (for stories, I mean, not to eat)... and that was brave of Katy.
Not impressed with a lot of things, no.
But you... you're all right you! ;) Great coat of arms for Pearl, that. Yeah!
I agree, Austan. It's the folk with a good sense of humour that will survive. Mind you, I'd prefer to have a 0.50 cal Barrett to go with my joke book.
Geo.! What's wrong? Are you okay?
EC- well shucks, thanks. Yeah, we really don't need them around.
Arleen- I've never known anything in psychology that examines good things about people.
Well, Lawless it's a mutual admiration society then. :) Isn't that a sad story? I wish the best for her, however it turns out.
Pearl! Nice! Glad you like!
Boo, yanno, sometimes I really love this town. Things like that keep me believing people are still thinking. Like Reagan said, "If you tell a lie long enough, it doesn't matter it's a lie anymore, it becomes the truth." We should've lisrtened. Probably the most honest thing he ever said.
Doesn't it seem like there's fodda for stories everywhere these days?
Who knew Pearl would get her coat of arms here?!
You're allright too, you. :D
TSB. Well, then you'll survive anything. You already have, you're a teacher! Save a round for me.
