Going on 3 weeks since I quit tobacco and I can smell everything. From distances. Every time Beest digs in the catbox. Every time the wind shifts and blows through the vegetable garden. Everything I cook or even when the refrigerator is opened. Everything smells. Detergents are vile-scented. I'm seriously considering going back to Ivory Snow, at least it didn't make me nauseous. I dread seeing one friend who wears way too much scent- even when I was smoking it could make me gag. Right now I may throw up on her shoes. Hoping the olfactory calms down, as there are many smells around and not all very nice.
Stevil, alas, is sick. No birthday party tomorrow. I'm glad I didn't cook ahead of time, and there's room in the freezer. We'll reschedule once he gets better. Sleep, Bunky!
Speaking of smells...
Here's something that stinks out loud... why? why? why?

There are plenty of smells at rock festivals

This definitely does not stink; someone is posting Greg Lake's nearly-a capella vocal tracks from classic ELP & King Crimson recordings on YT. Here's "Epitaph"

Why California is stinking

Some of this probably stinks but it's beautiful anyway:

And with that, I'm off to start dinner. Chicken breast in a progressive tomato gravy I've been working up over the week. Hope your day doesn't stink.
ETA: I had to add this, it's just too perfectly typical:

That is going to be one weird movie....I may just have to see it in order to appreciate how weird it really is.
Your dinner sounds lovely, I'll be right over.
Sadly those people have been at every rock festival I have ever been to. Even worse some at least of them frequent my grocery store.
Have a stink free day.
Lawless- you're welcome anytime! I have a bad feeling about that sequel. Why do they always have to mess with things???!
EC- I know just what you mean. We used to have a festival here in VT, the Bread and Puppet, and the attendees would come into the store I worked in and leave clouds of stink hanging in the aisles. You have a stink-free day too! ;D
Hey Laura,
Great stuff you haven't been smoking for nearly three weeks.
Of course, you are now realising that your nostrils are discovering some rather strong odours. It all makes um 'scents'.
The real test is smelling Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star's breath. Oh my....
Take care and enjoy your weekend.

What the heck is going on? My comments keep coming out twice.
Oh well, double the fun. Wonder if this one will repeat itself like a bad case of indigestion...:)
Here goes...
Here in California, we're all giving each other the "who farted?" look. It's a time-honored staple of soap opera acting. I can do it with one eyebrow raised so I usually win.
My asthma attacks are usually set off by an allergy to perfumes - usually very cheap perfumes. Ivory is okay, but it does have a scent. (Their dishwashig liquid almost knocks me out at times.)Both Tide and Arm and Hammer have unscented laundry detergent. And a brand called "Planet" has a very good unscented dishwashing liquid. Okay, back to bed...
