2012: the Mrs. Miniver Year

This was not a bad year. It was a year of drama though. The bads were pretty damn bad when they happened and the goods weren't light and fluffy; they were solid and meaningful. Some amazing things came from left field. There were close calls with last minute saves. For reasons not even clear to myself, I'll think of this as the Mrs. Miniver Year.

I wish you a Mary Poppins new year, Laura. However, We all need drama in our lives to stimulate us, so I will throw in a little Indiana Jones also.

Lawless- Yep, another one for the records, a year of great memories, of challenges, and of lessons. I hope you're unexpectedly delighted with what 2013 brings, dear Lawless.

Hey Laura,
And what we learn from the bads can make 2013 gooder. Wishing you the bestest New Year.

I suddenly have this urge to play baseball, which being in England, will give me even stranger looks than normal :)

Have a good one, eh. Thanks for your support and encouragement.

Accurate and thought-provoking post. I have had "the bads" all morning --probably something I ate. I too hope the new year extracts lighter, fluffier goods.

You are an inspiration and a delight, so I am wishing for a healthy, happy 2013 for you and yours. And yes, 2012 was a very mixed bag here, which is probably as it should be. The negatives do throw the positives into high relief...

Gary,
Yes, the badder makes the gooder look even gooder.

Baseball!? I love baseball! Fie on those who look ill upon it!

And thank you for the kindness you spread to and inspire in everyone.
All the very bestest to you too,
Laura

Geo.- may your bads be banished by a bonus of silly stuff! It's getting better all the time. We must keep believing. It may not always look that way but in the end it does. Every bit of hate brings an outpouring of love, every terrible thing brings out the best in humanity. Hold onto that, it's the only useful truth we have in these days.
All the best, dear Geo.

EC- that's exactly it! I do think the bad makes the good so sweet. You inspire and support me in many ways; you're a reminder that I can and should go that extra mile. May 2013 be full of lovely goodness for you and yours, and heartache and troubles forget your address.
