Poetry Month or Potty Mouth?

My eyesight's getting questionable. Even worse than my early-morning typing. Lately I've misread a lot of things on the first pass, which evokes some initial surprise and lots of yukking when my focus comes back.

Here are some lines I got lately, I'll let you fill in what I saw in the first go-round.
"You're a little curt today."

"My pens broke right in half!"

"It was an old-fashioned funk party."

And then there are the simple typos that cause a double-take:
"I balled all night when she died."

"He pissed over me."

"She's nine and never saw Beauty and the Breast before."

"Still no tomstone." (talking about my brother Tommy's grave)

So just as I was starting to bitch about how unfunny life has gotten and how nobody's bantering or has a sense of humor anymore, Mother Nature shows hers. Growing older has its redeeming qualities.

good to see the humour in slowly losing your eyesight....you can bet I read this over carefully before hitting publish

have you heard from Rory....I hope this long silence doesn't mean he is having trouble rehabilitating that arm.

Lawless- we have to go over everything twice these days!
I've emailed Rory a couple of times and no response yet. I hope he's just busy. It's been a few weeks since he posted, but he disappears now and then. I'll email him again.

I just had my eyesight fixed about 6 weeks ago. It is wonderful being able to see again. If you are noticing a difference, see a doc soon.

Please don't take your eyesight for granted. Get them checked out. It is something we should all values. You may find me to be overwhelming but I think I qualify because of my age, to advise people to be careful.

Oh dear. I had thought I was alone. Glad that I am not. Though that didn't come out quite right either.
