The Tattoo Quest

It's not as easy as you'd think to find a tattoo artist. Brendan Kennedy, who did my last tat in 1999, is nowhere to be found. I asked on iBrattleboro for recommendations and got nothing. I tracked down a tat shop near the concert venue and emailed them, and never got a response. This is a big part of the whole Greg weekend. I don't know how long an "indelible" Sharpie's ink will last and I'll need to shower for cryin out loud. So it's gotta be someone local, who's open some day between Sunday and Tuesday, and won't charge a fortune to do 8 letters. Besides, I have a Coney Island Freddie tattoo to show and tell about. All tat artists love to see and hear about that and him. It's a bit of tat cultural history.

Finally, I looked in the Yellow Pages. And there, right uptown on Putney Road, is a place called "Viking Tattoos and Valhalla Gift Shop". Kismet, methinks. I've left a message. I hope hope hope this works out.

UPDATE: Donna at Viking Tattoos called, I can walk in anytime on Sunday, the 22nd after noon. This so rocks! Strider can see me get the tattoo!

I hope they call you back. Just in case they don't what is wrong with a sharpie one? Will cost you nothing and yet is removable in case it does not come out good.

Good luck with finding a good artist.

Munir- Well, I'm getting Greg's autograph, so the Sharpie will be the template but it won't last.

Thanks, Lawless. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow I'll start obsessively calling. ;)

I am intrigued. Can we get an update on what the Valhalla gift shop contains? My mind is obsessing about it now. Mead. Mead cups. Slightly used swords and shields. Breastplates....

I can feel your excitement. I do hope you get what you want.

EC- I'll be blogging every detail about everything that I can possibly recall. The Valhalla Gift Shop is a must-see. Strider has to get back to Maine Sunday so we won't be loitering long. Or she can explore while I'm getting the tat. Maye she'll guest blog the part about Valhalla. I'm a Viking. :)

Arleen- Well there wasn't much we could do with him at Lawless' party for Gary, at least til he recovered, so... I'm sure he won't remember it if I ask. Things will go better this time ;)
