Well, Dinner was Nice

Had a relaxing good dinner with Stevil. The pork roast was luscious and I braised the brussel sprouts with it. We chatted and bitched, watched "Nanny McPhee" (quite a stinker of a movie) and ate pie. A very nice day.

Tonight, not so nice. But the least said about that, the better. None of the 3 involved are dead. That's the best I can say after a rather nasty scene.

I brought a covered dish to my neighbor but she didn't answer the door and it's still sitting there. If it's still there in the morning I'll call her. If there's still no sign of life I'll call the office and ask them to do a welfare check.

Mike Wallace, one of my childhood heroes, died this weekend. He was 93. He was a truly good journalist. RIP, Mr. Wallace.

And so another Easter/Passover weekend goes into the books. I'm sick of holidays being wrecked by one person. I won't be anyone's dumpster, for whatever reason. And now it'll be a while before I'll get the Beest back to the progress we were making. Really not thrilled tonight.

Ah, soothing music

Happy Easter. I fell asleep after being exhausted from the week and the weekend.
You are a good neighbor to not only bring a dish but to keep a check on some one who did not pick it up.
Is this the famous Mike Wallace?

It is amazing how often holidays/celebrations are ruined by one person. And how often it is the same person.
I hope that you and the Beest are soothed by music and feel better for it.

Oh boy...peaceful thoughts to you and soothing strokes to the Beest. It took me a long time to learn not to let other people steal my happy and sometimes I still get sidetracked. Deep breath, exhale, continue on with love and forgiveness.

That was yesterday, today is a new beginning. Hope it's better. We can't change other people, just how we react to them. I just try to walk away as it does me no good to get upset and cause myself pain.

You are such a good, kind person, Laura, don't let the bad guys get to you.

Hope your neighbor is OK.

Just so everyone knows, dinner was wonderful and the pie was delish. As my great grandfather used to say, "I've had an elegant sufficency". He would always follow that up with, "Anymore would be a fleeopedy."

Thank You,darling.

Happy Easter Monday, Munir. My neighbor's okay. I heard her yelling at someone this morning. ;)

Yes, the 60 Minutes host Mike Wallace. Sad to lose the old-fashioned journalists.

EC- It is! And always the same person.

I'm staying low key and quiet. The Beest is back to chewing herself like crazy and is extra skittish today. She was doing well until last night. ach.

Lawless- Thanks. Peace and quiet is the order of the day. I can "water off a duck" almost anything but when my daughter or pets get mistreated, and then it's go time.

Arleen- The problem with this person has been going on for years. It wasn't important until it involved the welfare of the Beest. And days of work go "pffft" because of one person's sense of entitlement. No more.

Yeah, she's fine. :)

Aw, Stevil, thanks. Our holidays have become tradition. Hey, I'm off the hook for cooking/hosting until the July 4th post-parade party!
And the Beest sure loves you.

Oh dear. It started off promising. Glad you had fun with Stevil. And sorry about the rest. Poop.

I'm still recovering from in-laws.

Oh, it was about the Beest, that is different. Go get um, Laura.

Carrie- Yeah, Stevil's family, but the good kind. :)

So is that it for in-law obligations until Thanksgiving now?

Arleen- Yeah, mess with my cat and see how happy I get. The Beest has been chewing herself all day. I've just lost 2 weeks of working with her due to 1 person's self-centered BS.
