On Edge Friday

Without personal details, this has been one of those days. Not so much for me, but for many people in my heart. Right now I'm worried about my family in Indiana. The storms in the midwest continue and they're near them. Things won't die down for several more hours. Oy.

I'm having a hard time with the cane today. It looks like my body isn't cane-happy, and though I did the right thing with my shoulder, trying to walk with a stick isn't making life good for any body part. Gal Friday did get me a chair so at least I can sit and do things in the kitchen. A big improvement there. I need a walker! Which is ordered (a red one this time, I'm naming it "Johnnie", of course). Amazon hasn't shipped anything yet, and I'm not paying 70 bucks for fast shipping. Come on, Amazon!

I could go on bitching and whining but even I don't want to hear it.

But here- an exercise in matrixing:

Random spots do not a sighting make. Hope your walker hurries on up. Also hope your friends are safe and sound. The good old US of A has sure been taking a pounding.

It's all that hot air from those damn Republicans causing the climate change!! :D
I am happy to say that your family here in the Hoosier state is doing peachy - now. WTF is a Hoosier anyway? Born here and lived in this state my whole life and have never found a satisfying answer. It is a Republican state - that might have sort of answered my question.
Smile!!!!!! Good things are coming your way and ours. I just feel it.

Just caught the news and that is one huge band of volatile weather passing through the states.....hope it blows out fast.

That is surprising as Amazon usually ships items quickly. Was it a third party sale? I always have to wait longer for those.

The weather is frightening around the south and midwest. Tornadoes are so scary. In the past few years we have had them in our area also and the anxiety alone of sitting in the basement surrounded by quilts and pillows took a few years off my life.

Lawless- As I've said, what if it's not Jesus, but John Lennon? This year the season is way worse. There's been exponentially more twisters than last year.

Lisa! I'm relieved to hear everything's okay. I think Rush Windbag is responsible for at least 2/3rds of climate change! :D WTH is a Hoosier anyway? Maybe Susan knows.
Yeah, good things are coming! We're due!

Arleen- It's thru Amazon, and the 1 thing I ordered from a 3rd party was shipped today. Still nothing from Amazon. The order page says everything is "not yet shipped". The last couple of months Amazon's been slow. Up til then they'd been skippity. I had to email and ask when some things hadn't been shipped in a week's time and got a salty reply, but stuff went out that day. The clerk lied, though, saying it had already been shipped when I saw the tracking said it was shipped late the afternoon of my complaint. They're no different than any business these days. They take your $, tell you you're wrong and lie to cover their arses.

We'd better not get one here; I've already been thru a flood and we have no basements.

I really hope that the people you care about are safe.
My shoulder and arm don't like me using a walking stick. When I really need one (it varies) the forearm crutches which leave my hands free are OK. I hope your walker arrives v soon.

EC- You have forearm crutches that leave your hands free? I've never heard of such an animal. We have what are colloquially called "Canadian crutches"; there are braces around your forearms but your hands hold handles so they aren't free. I have good upper body strength but it wants to be equilateral, not all to one side, which is wrecking my back and making my hip way worse. Thanks for your speedy wishes.

How's the pain relief?
My Beloved's now on continuous high doseCodeine to stop her weeping every night.

I try not to be too emotional, but I sometimes cry in sympathy.

Live can be a bitch, but we don't really have much of a choice.

TSB- All I take now is 4 Aleve a day and some diphenhydramine. I went the entire trip to Oz in meds. I just try to ignore the pain and not feel too sorry for myself.
Ah, but a little creativity and a good sense of humor carry us on, right?
