Head Go Boom!

I've tried. Really I have.

Since the USB of Greg Lake's autobio part one was empty (thank you, China), I called and asked for the download. They sent me the links, I downloaded them. There they sit, mp3 and m4b, zippy and right there. But...

WHEN I OPEN THEM TO PLAY A BAJILLION SCREENS POP UP AND THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT STOP IS TO SHUT THE COMPUTER DOWN.

I've looked for solutions on the web. Nothing. I emailed the guy who sent them to me. He's stumped. All my other downloads work just fine.

It's times like these that make me wish I'd never gotten a computer. That computers were never even friggin made. And I begin to understand how little annoyances can become so huge that one goes postal.

After this experience, I'll wait for the book at the end of the year. It's just not worth it. 30 bucks for day after day of agita? No thanks. I love you Greg, but not enough to suffer through this shinola.

The computer, both helpful, and angonizing. The computer, a ticket to the world, a scourge on the earth. The computer, works perfectly or doesn't. The computer, can't live with it, can't live without it.

I know it is male.

But just think of all the folks we would never have met without a computer.

...and think how isolated we would feel. No outlet for all this creativity would be stifling. I have a box file of the writing I did on an old typewriter. NOw I have a thumb drive copy and on the hard drive.

You should not have all those pop-ups. Your program provider should 'spam'them out before they get to you.

Arleen- It certainly is.

Lawless- yes, but.

Susan- I wish someone knew wth is going on. Screen after screen appears, the mp3 never loads because the computer keeps generating screens like rabbits.

It sounds like there's a Trojan virus on it. That's what the trojan did on my old computer. Pop up after pop up of porn stuff. Not that I have anything against porn, but still... I agree, there are times I wish the computer had never been invented.

My sympathies. I too have suffered the pop-ups! Our technology churns us between "love" and "shinola". Tolstoy could not have named the conflict more accurately.

Thank China for the pop ups too!

Hope your head doesn't implode for waiting for the end of the year.

Aaargh. Sadly I recognise computer rage.
