A few years, well yes, a few decades ago, John and Yoko took to a bed for a week in a peace protest. If it did nothing else, it made news. There was also a documentary made and Yoko is offering it on her website for free until next weekend:

It's an hour and ten minutes long and be prepared to hear a lot of the Yoko primal scream cum bird imitation at the beginning. Aside from that, it's an interesting watch and for those of us alive at the time, brings back memories. And maybe, just maybe, it still speaks to the way the world is. And what we'd like it to be. All we are saying is give peace a chance.

Thanks for posting this. Went to site but couldn't watch much. I get the damned emotions. Yoko and Lennon packaged personal adjustment beautifully in it --I remember from back then-- an adjustment that had to be made before a war could end. No complicated withdrawal strategies, as hawkish pundits like to baffle and plug things with, just stop killing and bring them home. That's how it was 40 years ago and how it is now. Hopefully, in the next 40 years, all individuals will learn to imagine a peaceful world, one they can be proud of.
I remember that time very well. Yoko was/is a trip and I was never sure what her talent was besides marrying John. He gave us so much with his music and also with his message. My favorite song of all time is Imagine. I was so young then and so idealistic. The years have gone by so quickly.
It does show our age, but also our hearts, the way we've reacted. It isn't an easy watch. How have we gone so far backwards?
I have two versions of this song: the original (of course) and a newer one by Perfect Circle. The message lives on, even for those of us who never got to experience such a momentous time in history. I guess the battle never stops. Never become complacent.
That's it, Carrie, never become complacent. We can do better.
