Wake Up and the Day is Over

It's been one of those days when time just slips by and I can't really point to anything getting done. Except Hildie is thoroughly combed. Rewrote a chapter of the book that I'm still not satisfied with and put it down for the day before I drove myself nuts. Seems like I woke up, did some things, saw and talked to a few people and now it's almost 8 p.m. Where the time goes on a day like this I don't know. Some days feel like extra hours are put in. I guess this was one that they borrow the time from.

It feels like Spring. Sunny, breezy, cold but not like other Februarys kind of coldness. Not to the bone, move fast, cover your face cold. I've always wanted a really long Spring, maybe this is it. Just feels off, not having a Winter.

Today is the 15th anniversary of my Mom's death, too. 15 years already. Impossible. As the years go by I try to remember her laughter, her singing... it fades a little. February is not a favorite month of mine. Too many deaths remembered. But if it all flies by like today, that's fine by me.

I'm glad to be eating healthy. I'm sleeping and everything is normal. Maybe the pounds won't magically disappear this way, but it's liveable. I don't even miss flour products anymore and more surprising, I crave veggies now. Go figure.

All's quiet in The Shire. The story of Beowulf is on H2, and I have books to read. Life is good. I hope everyone gets a peaceful day like this now and then. See ya tomorrow.

these anniversaries are always tough...good you have some things to do like reading and blogging and your lovely fuzzy baby to keep you busy.

Well, there is nothing like some good carrots to get you through the day. I know what you mean though; some days feel so long and yet nothing has been accomplished. Others seem like there are not enough hours for all the things planned. Every now and then though, there is a happy medium. I have come to accept them though, and not stress the small stuff as much as used to. If it is an unproductive day, I go to my mantra - mañana is good enough for me.

Hah! I watched the Beowulf too - at least most of it. Fell alseep around the time of the dragon. I'd forgotten all about the battle on the ice...

Lawless- seems easier over time. But I don't like the forgetting. There are so few left to remember with, it's as if your life memories die too, with each death.

Arleen- I'm with you there, tomorrow is good enough!

Stevil- I'd forgotten that, too. In fact, I'd forgotten so much that I thought they were being inaccurate!

Good to hear you're still chugging along with your book. There's probably a good reason I was jumping ahead one week on the calendar!

I'm used to the days flying by ... it's the mysteriously disappearing years and decades that have me befuddled. (How could I POSSIBLY have sons with gray hair, dammit???)

Carrie- time is a slippery business!

Susan- I know a guy whose hair was completely white at 30. My Dad went gray at 26. My advice is lie. "Oh we start going gray in our teens in my family!"
