A Message From a Non-sponsor

Y'all know I hate advertising. I've called it Satanic marketing and meant it, forever. It's evil and greed-encouraging, mindless gluttony glorified and justified. And still, now and then, someone gets a good idea that yes, still is meant for selling purposes, but is sweet anyway. Such is this little (5 mill pound) ad for John Lewis this Christmas season:

Sterling pounds... aaah (five million!). I was thinking, this HAS to be British. A semi, coated in pebble-dashing, not all over-done cheese-ball lookin'. ;) That was proper good. *sniff*

Yeah, how that cost 5 mill (7.5 m USD) is beyond me. But it is proper good!

Aww, so sweet. Another one that does ads well is Hallmark.

Sadly, I remember holiday ads very well. Norelco was a part of every Christmas. And Robert Hall, on the radio.
