Shame On US Part 2

The worst thing I've heard from my own countrymen in I can't remember how long happened this week. At the GOP nomination debate, a crowd of  Teabaggers cheered on the idea of letting someone die rather than giving medical care:

I'm ashamed of anyone who would back this "party", these people, this incredible heartless selfish ugly greedy bowel movement of a movement.
My gods, how low will we go? I dry heave to think.

People enthused against their own best interests have always been an enigma. I suspect the noise makes them feel almost like they're alive and winning something.

How repulsive. This isn't the America I grew up in.

What did you expect? Unfortunately, compassion and morality went out the window when the bottom dropped out in 08. It sometimes feels like it's an "I got mine and the hell with you" attitude pervading our society. I*t makes me so sad.

I elected not to watch this. Too many things to get angry about already.

Insensitivity proliferates...

Geo.- That's something that baffles me, too.

Susan- I'm with you there, sister.

Starting- I expect better.

Paul- It's a deluge these days!

How they think this message that they are delivering will be excepted by the majority of the American people boggles my mind. There was a time when people mattered, now it is just the bottom line.

We are good people and hopefully this group will crash and burn in 2012.

Hi Laura,

I'm beginning to wonder if some kind of mass brainwashing scheme was rolled out and I somehow managed to miss it along with a handful of others? There are so many things which are so obviously wrong and yet not too much of a fuss is made about them.

I'm not about to give up, but every now and then I do get that creeping sense that I am the one who is the lunatic and not the majority of people out there. I sometimes wonder if I'm missing something?

It's people like yourself and others just like you who reaffirm the notion that I am sane!

Thank heavens.

Starting, Boy do I hope they crash & burn. I'm right there with ya!

Rory- Everyone's gone nuts! We're not even sane anymore cuz they've hit us with so much insanity for so long we're in PTSD & our response time lags.
