About a week after I got here one of Strider's 2 cats became pissy to the other. She is a Tortie, a big round Tortie. She staked my bed as her territory, then became a right bitch to the other little pastel cat, stalking her and hissing and batting. We yelled at her but she doesn't give a shit. Like Honey Badger. Last night Strider told me she wasn't going to keep the secret anymore, she's giving me Hildebear. Also known as Hildebeest. I have a cat. I, of course, got teary. Apparently, everyone else knew she was giving Hildie to me; I am the last to know, as usual. ;)
And since Strider has November 11th off, we're going back to Bratt on the 11th, not the 12th. So I have some informing and updating to do. Kinda cool that I'm going back on 11/11/11. Don't know why, but I've always liked synchronous numbers.
No news yet on what's up at home; one of the BoD has emailed me. Maybe he has insights, we'll see.
There's a boatload of news around the world but it's early and I've only been up a couple of hours. I'll get to it later. Bad news doesn't go away. This morning I just want to kvell over my new kitty for a while.

Lucky you.....I adore cats. Totally allergic to them but no mind. It will be nice to go home with a friend.
Ace, Laura! What a lovely surprise. Though, sounds like the cat already made up her mind! They are funny.
I ended up with my cat because she hates other cats. On her own, she's a wonderful cat and needs that attitude to co-exist with a dog genetically coded to chase down small creatures. :D
11/11/11... add'em together and (what do you get... bibbety-bobbety...) you get 33, which is a very lucky number of mine.
Crossing everything!!! Well chuffed for you, luv.
Lawless- What a shame you're allergic. Seems to go from particular cat to cat for me. I'm allergic to some and not to others.
Carrie- Thanks! Cats who hate other cats are a breed apart. We had cats in my mother's house, in fact my first friend was a cat nobody but me could touch, but they got along fine. Hildie is a loner. It doesn't help that Clem is very pretty and petite. I suspect there's jealousy. ;)
I hope your luck shines on mine!
Welcome to the world of cats! I never thought I would like to own any, but they were forced upon me by my children. However, even though I am very allergic to them, I love those two little creatures and am so happy to have them around. I just keep the tissue people in business and help out the economy.
Enjoy your new kitty.
I forgot to add that... my luck on that day is all for you. :)
Yes, I suspect you are right about the whole jealousy thing. :D
