Etta James is Dead

Etta James died today, just short of her 74th birthday. Her troubled life, great talent and hit records are now part of R & B history. She'd cancelled her 2010 tour and grew increasingly ill as the leukemia, hepatitis C and dementia she was struggling with overcame her.

We'll always have her music.

Hi Laura,
The passing of Etta James was a featured story on BBC radio. An incredible and underrated talent.
I would ascertain that the late Amy Winehouse got some musical inspiration from this lady who had such, as you note, a troubled life.
Take good care of yourself, Laura.
In kindness, Gary

Boo, She was one of a kind, and will be missed.

Gary, I'm glad they reported on her. She was so underrated. Lots of today's singers owe her homage as in one way or another, she influenced modern singing styles. She was the original.
You take good care Gary, and let Penny take care of you too, ;)
