This is turning into an interesting year. Not only have we got Greg's concert in April, but at some point Uncle Glenn's estate will be settled. I didn't know he'd put me in his Will, but he did. In all the years I knew him, we talked about the UK and he made me promise that one day I'd take the train from London to Edinburgh.
Who knows how much there'll be once the smoke clears. But I think there'll be enough to get me there and back. I've never been to Europe. It's what UG would've wanted and what I've wanted all my life. I'm not getting younger. It's time to make some dreams come true...

How wonderful that you can look forward to having a dream come true. What a wonderful gift your Uncle Glenn has given to you.
That will be a lovely memorial to a dear uncle. Be sure to take lots and lots of photos with that new camera.
Oh my goodness! I can't think of anyone who deserves such a tribute more. Don't forget to stop by Oxford Uni. ;)
Uncle Glenn was one of a kind. He's been gone 4 years and settling the estate has been a big shmagiggle. I know he'd be happy that I spent his money this way. Yes, I'll take lots of photos (still haven't set that up), and I'll definitely go to Oxford! ;) This really is a dream come true. Especially if I go on the QM2. He always crossed on the QE2, so did my Grandfather. And if I can, I want to leave a memorial to him somewhere...England was his home and his love.
Sorry to hear of your loss (even if it was four years ago now) but what a wonderful gift. I hope it gets you there, back, and a lovely dinner or two in between.

Thanks Pearl. I hope you're all better now!
Congratulations--I do hope this is a year in which many of your dreams come true. You certainly deserve it!
And the same for you, Moony. You've been building a dream for a long time. I hope this year it reaches completion. xx
What a lovely idea. That train journey goes through some beautiful country, but if you get the chance, take the train from Perth to Inverness, the scenery is stunning.
BTW Take your own food, British Rail (or whatever name they're called these days) is absolute crap.
TSB- Thanks for the tips! My family is from Elgin, so I'll be heading up that way!
Wow!
Greg and the Emerald Isles in the same year?!
Hope it washes away some of the sour taste of the previous year.
WOW! This year is off to an awesome start for you. Couldn't happen to anyone who deserved it more. This is gonna be YOUR year!
Paul- Technically, it may be Spring of 2013 before I get to the UK. But yeah man, it's almost too much!
Susan- Thanks, you sweetheart you. It's gonna rock!
